We need you here on time each and every day. Any day that you miss, you will miss valuable learning time, and we miss you being here. If you are sick, you need to stay home; however, if you are tired, not in the mood, or just don’t feel great, come on to school. You will be glad you did. All students must adhere to Gwinnett County Public Schools attendance policies and procedures.
Early Checkout – If you have a note from your parent or guardian indicating that you will need to leave school early, you need to stay in class until your parent comes to the office and signs you out. The office will contact your classroom when it is time for you to leave.
Early Morning Arrivals
You may arrive early for the following reasons:
- To attend a scheduled work or help session with a teacher.
- To attend a scheduled club meeting.
- To attend early morning computer lab to work on a specific teacher-assigned project.
If you come to school before 8:50, you will have to report to a study hall where you will be expected to read quietly or work on your assignments.
Late Check-In/Tardy – If you arrive after 9:20 a.m. you need to report to the front office. Punctuality is part of your attendance record. You are considered tardy after 9:20 a.m. After 3 tardies in any nine-week period, you may be referred to an administrator, counselor, or social worker and your parents may be contacted.
